Overview

This Privacy Policy explains how VERSO handles your information. VERSO stores your reading library on your device and does not collect it on VERSO servers.

Information stored in VERSO

Information you provide

  • Books you add to your library, including titles, authors, covers, reading status, and finish dates
  • App preferences and settings

Information VERSO does not collect

  • Personal identification information such as your name, email, or phone number
  • Location data
  • Device contacts, photos, or other personal files
  • Advertising identifiers
  • Analytics or tracking data

How information is used

The information you enter is used only to:

  • Display your reading library
  • Look up book metadata and cover art
  • Generate book recommendations
  • Save your app preferences

Data storage and security

Local storage: Your library is stored on your device using Apple’s SwiftData framework.

iCloud sync: If iCloud is enabled for your Apple Account, Apple may sync your library across your devices using CloudKit. VERSO cannot access your private iCloud data.

No VERSO server storage: Your reading library is not stored on VERSO servers.

Third-party services

VERSO uses Apple services to provide core app features:

  • Apple iTunes Search: Used to look up book metadata and cover art in response to your searches.
  • StoreKit: Used to process the optional VERSO Unlimited purchase. Payment information is handled by Apple, not VERSO.
  • CloudKit: Used by Apple to sync your local library between your devices when iCloud is enabled.

Data sharing

VERSO does not sell, trade, or share your personal information with advertisers or data brokers. Your library remains on your device and, if enabled, in your private iCloud account.

Your rights

You have complete control over your data:

  • All local app data can be deleted by removing the app
  • Individual books can be removed within the app
  • No account registration is required

Children’s privacy

VERSO is not intended for children under 13. VERSO does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes to this policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date.
